AQUATIC LODGE + CURATED DINING
An ultra-modern aquatic lodge with an elevated, artisanal dining experience where visitors explore the tactile and sensorial methods of cultivating their own food sourced directly from the water and on site.
Apsu is inspired by the mountainous formations of rocks and the clustering of barnacles and how they continually dwell in their shells and inhabit shallow waters, attaching on to almost any solid surface.

Hands-on experience: learn how to grow and harvest produce and herbs through conventional garden systems installed on each side of the communal lounge area.
Educational: learn about overfishing, sourcing of food, how to forage and prepare the food, and dispose and compost methods.
Cooking: using propane gas to cook.
Solar energy: solar panels installed on the roof of each structure - absorb sunlight during day and store energy for use throughout evening.
Battery storage bank and charge controller stored inside pontoon. Charge controller controls energy being fed to battery and also provides power for domestic use.
Rain water: surface run off drains into tank and is filtered prior to consumption and use. (Usage: shower and sink, washing produce etc.)
Day light + natural ventilation: to reduce the use of energy, the skylights and windows throughout the space are operable. They are utilized to cool the space in replace of air conditioning. This air circulation allows cool air to come in from the sides and push hot air up and out through the skylights.
